Chelle Lynn is a pen name of mine that I adopted many years ago that represents both me and the creativity in my family. Writing has been my outlet, my way to vent emotions and work through thought problems for many years now, as well as just a fun side activity that I could use to get away from the stresses of life. My writing took off in 2008, following my graduation from college. It has helped me through some tough times, and I have made some lifelong friends as a result.
I have yet to be published, save for a poem that I paid to have published in a book many years ago (I was naive back then). I write for fun, not to make money, though I may one day decide to pursue publication. It seems to be the trend among my friends right now.
I have participated in various writing communities over the years, getting my real start back around 2003, when I moved right after my sophomore year of high school and didn't know anyone around me. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix was released that summer, and I joined the ranks of the thousands who wrote fanfiction, because I thought that the other fanfiction I was reading was horrible and didn't fit my image of what happened. This you can see on my fanfiction profile (penname Chelle-Lynn).
In 2007, my last year in college, I was introduced to NaNoWriMo. I did not participate that year, but rather acted as editor in a collaboration project that was never really completed. The following year, I participated myself and won, writing a young adult novel about a girl in a world I had created in my short stories. This is the world of the Kamore, and you can find several short stories and character sketches based in that world here. I have participated in NaNo in varying degrees since, save for 2011, when my schoolwork took precedence.
As of now, I spend most of my 'writing' time editing previously written works, and occasionally publish them here. I also support my many writer friends as I get pulled into the community more and more. If you've joined for the ride, welcome.
